Capacity Insight

We are excited to announce the roll out of our new software feature, Capacity Insight. 

Capacity Insight gives manufacturers visibility into the untapped capacity of their machines and the maximum amount of additional production that can be unlocked without capital investment.

Capacity Insight is available through TEEP view in Automation Intellect. TEEP, or Total Effective Equipment Performance, is the maximum available production time – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. 

TEEP can be viewed against the standard OEE display, which is the measure of Availability, Quality and Performance during actual production time.  

We made it easy for manufacturers to view TEEP and compare it to OEE by toggling between the two with a simple click. 

Details on available capacity can be found in Automation Intellect’s Daily Report for Plant Managers. In this example, Missing Capacity is the capacity that is available to run more production if the line is running at target OEE.

 

Here’s an example of how manufacturers can use OEE and TEEP analysis to improve efficiencies and revenue. 

If the OEE measure of a particular line is best in class but the TEEP measure is low, this line would be a good candidate to run a new product, or move product from a line that has low OEE metrics.  

Another example of how manufacturers can benefit from OEE and TEEP insight is if they are trying to determine whether or not to make an investment in new equipment. By analyzing TEEP,  they are able to see if there is untapped production capacity available to utilize instead of the costly alternative of purchasing a new machine.
