OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) is an industry standard measurement that identifies the true productivity for a given machine. The three (3) components of OEE are Availability, Performance and Quality.

World Class = 99%
Quality is the ratio of Good Parts to Total Parts Produced. This ratio includes Machine Produced Defects (Rejects) and Reduced Yield Defects (Startup Rejects). 100% Quality means that only good parts are produced with no scrap parts or parts needing rework.

Availability

World Class = 90%
Availability is the ratio of Run Time to Planned Production Time. This ratio takes into account both Planned Stops (Setup/Change Overs, Run In) and Unplanned Stops (Equipment Failure, Material Shortages). 100% Availability means the process is running during Planned Production Time without any Stop Time (Planned or Unplanned Stops).

World Class = 95%
Performance is the ratio of Ideal Cycle Time times Total Parts Produced to the Actual Run Time. This ratio takes into account Micro Stops, Reduced Speed, and machine available, but not running time. 100% Performance means the equipment is running at its theoretical maximum speed while producing parts.
